RIO

REMOTE I/O SERVER

FEATURES

DESCRIPTION

RIO is designed to provide a low cost method of effecting Remote Input and/or Output control of devices via local or wide area networks used in Government, Commercial and Industrial applications. Running as a task on Microsoft Windows 95, 98 or NT platform, RIO responds to authenticated TCP/IP message packets sent via wired or wireless network topologies to set or report the status of I/O locations in its host computer. Two separate user definable passwords, each consisting of eight alphanumeric characters, will grant remote client locations either read only or read/write access to devices serviced by RIO. Logging all messages processed RIO notes date, time, originating IP address and command messages. Invalid message commands and/or invalid passwords are flagged in the log to aid the system administrator/system designer. RIO employs a sophisticated algorithm to match the server IP address to its authorization number thus insuring OEM users of legitimate license usage. Included with RIO is a sample client complete with source code written in C. Custom Server and Client design services are available.
