GCI Communications is pleased to announce the release of ez-Inspect

MANCHESTER, NH February 7, 2003 - GCI Communications is pleased to announce the release of ez-Inspect, the latest tool in Field Inspection Automation. The ez-Inspect solution combines a mobile, field inspection software application that runs on hand held computers with back end software which automatically formats, prints and archives the collected field data into required Inspection Reports. The ez-Inspect was developed and targeted towards municipalities to help them eliminate the time-consuming task of manually filling out field reports only to then return to the office where the field data would have to be re-entered into their office computers. Using menu driven, touch screen technology on the hand held and standard Windows features on the back end, ez-Inspect handles all of that data exchange automatically!

"During the Research and Development phase of this project we worked side-by-side with several New Hampshire communities by providing them with ez-Inspect equipment and using them as BETA test sites." says company president Robert St. Amand. "Incorporating feedback gathered directly from these BETA sites, we were able to tailor both the hand held application and the back end software to address their specific needs and requirements."

The first of several planned releases - the initial ez-Inspect application has been targeted specifically towards Fire Departments. Currently, ez-Inspect is being offered on GCI's own line of rugged, hand held computers known as NOVAS. GCI's next available handheld platform will be the Compaq iPAQ.

"We have been using GCI Communication's Fire Inspection solution for about six months now and productivity is up by 35%," says Derry, NH Fire Captain Scott Jackson. "In addition, we no longer have to spend time at the end of our shift re-entering our field data and manually generating Inspection reports. These time consuming tasks are taken care of automatically when we dock the hand held and sync up with our office computers. Completed reports are now filed and stored on electronic media."

With ez-Inspect, Fire Departments no longer have to perform their Inspections the old fashion way - by hand. Now they can perform these inspections in a modern, more efficient manner - by HAND HELD!

Prospects look good for local start up - GCI Communications!

AMHERST, NH, May 2002 - GCI Communications is pleased to report that after their first six-(6) months of operations, with revenues of $418K - earnings have exceeded original forecasts. This combined with expenses being held to below expectations, this New Hampshire start-up is off and running and poised for success!

Managing an existing Service and Repair business for over 15,000 hand held computers has provided GCI with enough revenues to fund R&D while maintaining an operational break-even status. The TEAM at GCI Communications is currently working on three (3) product initiatives:

1) Cross platform field inspection application targeted towards municipalities to help eliminate manually prepared inspection forms and field inspection evaluations combined with back-end software, which automatically prepares, prints and archives Assembly/Occupancy Permits and Inspection Reports. The first of several different Operating System releases - the initial ez-InspectTM application is being targeted specifically towards Fire Departments.

2) Fluid level sensor engineered to provide a low cost device with analog output for accurately measuring the amount of remaining ink in high speed, commercial and industrial printers. Multiple printer manufacturers are either incorporating or evaluating GCI's LD-20 product! In addition, since the primary sensor probe materials are chemically resistant to many compounds, it is also being evaluated for marine and petrochemical storage applications.

3) Service alert product called "NAG-TAG" which automatically notifies consumers that their recently purchased product / service is due for scheduled maintenance. Service organizations that depend on these revenues will be able to more economically manage their service business because the "NAG-TAG" prompts the consumer (not the service organization) to initiate the service call, thereby service organizations are spending less money on Sales & Marketing!

In a recent interview Robbie St.Amand was quoted saying "GCI's management team is a seasoned group of industry professionals with more than 120 years of combined experience under their belt. The new product initiatives have been prototyped with customer evaluations and BETA testing well under way. The only thing holding us back is lack of funds to aggressively grow the business; however, we anticipate solving that problem within the next two to three months!"

GCI Communications Acquires Intellectual Property and Ancillary Assets of Hand Held Computing Business from its Canadian parent Global Data, Inc.

AMHERST, NH, Nov 1, 2001 - GCI Communications, LLP (GCI) today announced that with the successful completion of an assets purchase of the hand held computing business from its former parent corporation, GDI Global Data, Inc. (TSE:GI) the company has established itself in Amherst, NH.

Pursuant to the terms of the asset purchase agreement, the senior management of Global Data's former hand held computing business acquired the intellectual property and the ancillary assets of the hand held computing business in consideration of deferred cash proceeds from the sale of future products, the performance of contract manufacturing and a limited, one-time provision for ongoing warranty services.

The deferred cash proceeds component of the purchase price consists of a US$100 per unit royalty for up to 1,500 units. This royalty is exclusive of Global Data's continuing royalty rights with respect to development work carried out for Badger Meter, Inc. (AMEX: BMI). GCI will also complete the manufacturing and shipment of Global Data's remaining orders for hand held computing products. GCI anticipates that these products will be completed and delivered by December 31, 2001. Additionally, GCI will assume the obligation to perform all required warranty work relating to hand held computing products sold by Global Data prior to sale date and for all remaining orders.

"Completing this transaction is consistent with our decision to exit the hand held computing business and allows us to fully focus on providing managed communications services for telemetry applications," said Lawrence E. Davis, Global Data's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "The sale transaction to the former hand held computing management team provides a seamless transition and ongoing support for our hand held computing customers."

"This is a WIN-WIN" said Robbie St.Amand, GCI's President and CEO. "This keeps employees working here in NH, provides a seamless transition to established hand held customers and provides an opportunity for everyone at GCI to put their entrepreneurial skills to work at growing a well established business."
